Our Heart Hero

Chrissie Hughes

As you know, heart disease is the number one killer of women and 1 out of every 3 women will lose her life to this silent killer. Go Red For Women is deeply personal to me as I am a survivor of a stroke as well as two open heart surgeries. I have a wonderful husband, 3 beautiful children and a granddaughter that I adore. I never thought that I would be fighting for my life in my 40’s.  I have learned not only to be a survivor of heart disease, but a fighter as well. I am passionate about spreading the word and having an impact on women and their cardiovascular health. Moments matter; therefore, it’s important, that as women, we become more aware of our heart health.  I want to make sure I am around to see all three of my kids get married, see my sweet new granddaughter grow up and grow older with my husband.

That’s why I am asking my friends and family to donate money towards my goal to raise funds for Go Red For Women in Mohawk Valley. Donations that will fund life-saving research and educational programs that are needed so that our daughters, sisters and mothers have a chance to fight the No.1 killer of women. Please join me in my mission to fight heart disease by choosing to Go Red.

“I Go Red for my children, granddaughter, husband, so that I can continue to be alive for them, laugh with them and love them with all my heart.
~ Chrissie
