Heart disease is still the No. 1 killer of women, taking the life of 1 in 3 women each year. This means women just like you - mothers, sisters, friends - are dying at the rate of one per minute because they don't know what you know: heart disease kills.

Women have come together here in the fight against heart disease in women. Take your seat at the table with dedicated women and men just like you. Hear their survivor stories, learn how heart disease affects a family and how you can help stop heart disease in our lifetime. Share our mission to fight the No. 1 killer of women.

Make It Your Mission to fight heart disease in women. By sharing this commitment, together we can help save lives. Be a part of this extraordinary day.

Make It Your Mission.

Speak Up for Your Heart - 2012 Go Red for Women Luncheon

SPEAK UP. Too many women die each year because they are unaware that heart disease is their No. 1 killer. One in three women suffers in silence, and almost one woman dies every minute of this largely preventable disease.

Together, we can bring a voice to this silent killer to help save lives. We can listen to what our hearts are telling us, become involved with the Go Red for Women movement and spread the word to our friends and community about making the right choices and taking action. Save lives with the power of your very own voice.

This year’s Go Red for Women Luncheon, nationally sponsored by Macy’s and Merck, with local presenting sponsor First Source Federal Credit Union will take place on Wednesday, May 2nd at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro and will feature several opportunities to increase awareness and education for heart disease in women.
Heart Health & Wellness Expo – 10:00 am
Luncheon - 12:00-1:30 pm

Heart Health & Wellness Expo
At this year’s Go Red for Women Luncheon, guests have an opportunity to learn what their level of risk for heart disease is by attending an interactive Health & Wellness Expo.

Picture and a Promise
All luncheon guests will have an opportunity to take a photograph that demonstrates a promise to love their heart and start living a healthier lifestyle. The photograph will later be e-mailed to the participant as a reminder of their promise.

Landmarks Go Red
Enjoy a presentation made up of local businesses that over the year have shown their support to the movement by wearing red.

Corporate Challenge
Recognizing that people spend a good part of their day at work and that employee wellness initiatives can reap big rewards; companies in the Mohawk Valley have entered a team in the Corporate Challenge – an eight-week workplace wellness challenge that kicks off in March and will culminate with an announcement of the results at the luncheon.
